The Athabasca Advocate is an award-winning weekly newspaper in a vibrant, fast-growing community located just over an hour north of Edmonton.
A two-person newsroom provides extensive coverage of local news and sports, dedicated to keeping the community informed about local events and providing thought-provoking editorials.
The Advocate has a verified circulation of over 3,500, with 81 per cent of adults reading the Advocate every week (ComBase 2005: 2 Year Data).
A second section, Town & Country, runs in the Athabasca Advocate, Barrhead Leader, Westlock News and Lac La Biche Post and reaches over 16,000 households.
The Advocate published its first issue in 1990.

The Athabasca Advocate is published weekly on Tuesday. Also available at the Advocate office or at most retail outlets in Athabasca, Boyle and area.
Letters to Editor:
We welcome letters to the editor. Letters submitted for publication must be signed and bear the address, telephone number and e-mail address (if applicable) of the writer. Please keep your letter to 500 words or less. Letters may be edited for grammar, punctuation, spelling, length and libel. Unsigned letters will not be published.
How do I book a Classified Ad?:
We accept faxed or e-mailed ads, or you can drop off your copy in person. Payment must be received before an ad will be published. We accept MasterCard or VISA by phone, cash, debit card or cheque in person. Deadlines: Town & Country classifiers: Thursday at 4 p.m. Advocate announcement/obituaries Thursday at 4 p.m.
What if I think I have a "News" story?:
If you have a news item or a photo opportunity you feel may be of interest to readers, please call Andrew de Souza or Jeff DAndrea at 780-675-9222 during office hours. If your tip is of a timely nature and outside regular office hours, send an e-mail.

Classified ads are one of the most highly read community newspaper sections, providing advertisers with a high awareness advertising vehicle.
