On behalf of the Athabasca Healthcare Centre Auxiliary Association, I would like to apologize to the Michelson family for any part our local association may have played in the hurtful oversight in the Advocate article October 31st regarding the Long Term Care (LTC) Quiet Room.

The Quiet Room is a place where family can have privacy to grieve and be together during the last days of their loved ones lives. Carl, Jim Mickelson's son, designed, made and donated the cabinetry for the room and the family bought and donated appliances for the Quiet Room in memory of their father. Long Term Care was Jim's final early home for seven years, and he is well remembered for his gentle soul, kind nature, and strong encouragement saying "good job!"
