Let the people decide

Closed door meetings, dysfunctional council, unknown costs, the list goes on and on, but still no explanations to the 1,211 town ratepayers and what, 5,300 county ratepayers, as to what the increased tax increases will be to pay for the pool.

Elections are coming in a year, maybe we can saddle the new councils with this responsibility, as opposed to what we have now. To help the 6,511 or so ratepayers, who will be saddled with the construction costs and ongoing yearly operating deficits, maybe all options can be conveyed to the community over the next 12 months, and then put a referendum question on the ballot so the new councils can actually be informed what the populace wishes to do with the new pool issue.

Democracy in action, a simple solution to a major issue that needs to be addressed. Let the people decide this one.
