Wonder when the TV people will be coming to Athabasca to film the new reality show “How to Destroy a Town”? Councillors cannot stand each other, decisions cannot be made, everyone fighting each other, and special interest groups trying to manipulate their causes, millions of dollars being tossed about, and not one shred of consideration for the low life taxpayer. Cannot afford a new school, but let us build – damn the cost. Cannot afford a new pool (and fitness center), but let us build – damn the cost. Cannot afford the Multiplex, but it is only losing a million bucks a year anyway. Cannot afford to bus our kids, cannot afford the infrastructure costs for a new school, but we can afford a new Communications Officer for the Aspen View School Division. Don’t know if the Athabasca University is staying, but so what. Half the town’s administration people have quit. Council should maybe all resign enmasse, so the community can get a new council that will put Athabasca’s needs first, not their own. You people should be ashamed. What a Sorry, Sad, Pathetic state of affairs. We need a plebiscite for the people to decide, obviously all the officials can’t, or won’t.
