The Athabasca Advocate is an award-winning weekly newspaper in a vibrant, fast-growing community located just over an hour north of Edmonton.
A three-person newsroom provides extensive coverage of local news and sports, dedicated to keeping the community informed about local events and providing thought-provoking editorials.
The Advocate has a verified circulation of over 2,950, with 90 per cent of adults reading the Advocate at least every four weeks (ComBase 2008).
A second section, Town & Country, runs in the Athabasca Advocate, Barrhead Leader, Westlock News and Lac La Biche Post and reaches over 12,500 households.
The Advocate published its first issue in 1982.
