A local declaration

We, the undersigned leaders in the Christian community, unequivocally condemn the terrorist attacks on our brothers and sisters in the Mosques in Aotearoa-New Zealand on March 15th.

We, the undersigned leaders in the Christian community, unequivocally condemn the terrorist attacks on our brothers and sisters in the Mosques in Aotearoa-New Zealand on March 15th.

We affirm these words from the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples:

… “that all peoples contribute to the diversity and richness of civilizations and cultures, which constitute the common heritage of humankind,

… further that all doctrines, policies and practices based on or advocating superiority of peoples or individuals on the basis of national origin or racial, religious, ethnic or cultural differences are racist, scientifically false, legally invalid, morally condemnable and socially unjust.”

We are brothers and sisters of the human family united under one Divine Love, whether we call that God, Yahweh, Allah, Great Spirit, or other names that give reverence for the gift of life.

Further, we commit to living, teaching and preaching in ways that promote respect for human diversity.
