I would like to thank the Town and the people of Athabasca for consenting to having the gospel tent sent up on the river front it was a perfect location with easy access and visibility.
My husband and I had an awesome experience attending all the meetings held in the gospel tent in Athabasca. The speakers were positive and mostly spoke of the miracles God has done in there lives and the people around them. We also had testimonies from people who had been healed through prayer at the meetings, my husband being one of them. Which really encouraged everyone in attendance.
The music was supplied by mostly local talent and was very inspiring giving them a time to shine and express themselves.
Everyone was welcome, there were greeters who tried to talk and welcome everyone, to my knowledge there was no one turned away. We meet old friends and made new ones as well. Refreshments were served at every meeting and all were welcome to partake and join in the fellowship.
As Christians we are taught to love God and our neighbors as our selves. We don't always agree with some of their actions but we believe we have all sinned and it isn't our place to judge anyone.
Having said this I did read there was some opposition to the tent meetings, I had family who fought in the last world war and I feel very strongly about keeping this country free, we have freedom of speech and religion, that came at great cost. If you take away some peoples rights be prepared to lose yours as there is always someone who will disagree with you. In this world right now there are countries that are torturing and killing people for their beliefs and life styles. Let us as Canadians respect one another before we lose our freedoms altogether.
