Fire destroys Donatville landmark

No injuries were reported in an early-morning fire last Wednesday in Donatville that completely destroyed a local landmark. A fire at the old Donatville service station on Highway 63, resulted in the complete loss of the structure on Dec. 16.

No injuries were reported in an early-morning fire last Wednesday in Donatville that completely destroyed a local landmark.

A fire at the old Donatville service station on Highway 63, resulted in the complete loss of the structure on Dec. 16. Investigators are still determining the cause of the blaze.

At around 5:45 a.m., Boyle and Grassland Fire departments were advised of the structure fire at the service station.

But, by the time emergency services arrived at the scene the structure was fully engulfed in flames.

There were no reported explosions and the fuel tanks were left intact.

The RCMP and the Fire Commissioner’s office are still investigating the cause of the fire, however, arson is not suspected.
