ATHABASCA — Residents of Athabasca can expect to see one of the sure signs of spring this week, as town street sweepers prepare to begin their neighbourhood routes from Tuesday, April 16 to Friday, April 19.

According to two posts on the Town of Athabasca’s social media, sweeping will begin in the residential neighbourhoods on the east side of town, starting with two routes in Cornwall April 16 and 17.

Streets on the East Hill will be swept Thursday, April 18, and Woodheights is scheduled for Friday. Due to weather dependency, the schedule for the remaining routes requiring sweeping will be announced via the Town’s channels as they’re made available.

Sweepers will be operating between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., and residents are asked to remove all vehicles, driveway ramp pads, and other obstructions in advance of their scheduled cleaning.

Stay tuned to the Town of Athabasca’s social media pages for updates on the street sweeping routes.
